The hidden Witch Hazel

We planted this shrub soon after we arrived in this house, and long before we put up the first summer house. Now it takes me by surprise each to find it in full flower usually when I am put checking progress on the first snowdrops.
It's a quirky plant- the flower clusters on the bare wood . I really like it and it has a delicate scent.
It has been sociable day as my friend M arrived mid morning . We had such a lovely time chatting about her art work and exploring beautiful collage journal she has made. I have missed seeing her.
