MM: Still Life in Denim

Thanks to ApolloFly for hosting this month and for some great themes. Today’s was still life. I did some research and pretty much anything that doesn’t move qualifies. So I used a few blocks. I really wanted to avoid any traditional idea of a still life.

Having gone to bed very late, I slept in equally late. When I arrived at the deli, the owner (Chiefs fan) couldn’t get out to me fast enough. It was past noon and she had been looking for me since 6:00! There wasn’t any gloating (except by her “lesser” half). I still owe her two bucks on our bet.

It was really nice to be outside. It was warm and sunny. I made sure to use my breathing stuff before I left and when I returned.

Near the end of a job interview, the HR Director asked the newly graduated engineer from MIT, “What starting salary are you looking for?“
The young man replied, “About $225,000 a year, depending on benefits.“

The interviewer asked, “What would you think of five weeks vacation, 14 paid holidays, full medical and dental, company matching retirement fund to 50% of salary and a company car, say a red Corvette?“

The engineer stood straight up and said, “Wow, are you kidding?”

The interviewer replied, “Yeah, but you started it!“
