Kilgowan Standing Stone....

Long Stone - Bronze Age.(2,500-1500 BC )

It was defaced by two priests Fr.Lawlor and Fr. Cummings. in the mid nineteenth century...in an act of vandalism they carved a cross on the stone...the days when Irish people were cap in hand to priests and doctors...it wouldn't happen today....
