Frozen falls
Tuesday
There was some sun in the forecast for today, so we had decided to go hiking at Charleston Falls Preserve near Tipp City, about an hours drive north from us, just north of Dayton. The falls weren’t quite as impressive as last year when we saw them in mid February, but striking nonetheless. I took numerous photos from different angles, then we continued along the trail for about 2.7 miles, a very enjoyable walk. Whilst our snow has all gone, they still had perhaps half an inch to an inch along the trail.
Despite the sun, we didn’t get above freezing today, topping out at 28F (-2C). Tonight, under largely clear skies, we go down to 6F (-14.5C)! However, that is nothing to northern Wisconsin, where Laura is, where the HIGH today was 2F (-16C)!! She’s very thankful for thermal undergarments and efficient heating and heated seats in her car!
