Todmorden Town Hall
The town hall was built on the boundary between Lancashire and Yorkshire in the 1870's and this is marked on the plinth beneath the two seated ladies. To the left the statues represent the cotton industry of Lancashire and on the right the woollen industry and agriculture of Yorkshire. It's now all in West Yorkshire or as they say locally it's a little bit of Lancashire in Yorkshire. Meanwhile I sit in Weatherspoon's waiting for the next train to Rochdale.
