Jesus Hospital, Rothwell
There's a lovely Italian restaurant on the Market Place in Rothwell that so lovely Cinchetti (have I remembered that right?) which we sampled this lunchtime. There are one or two notable old buildings around and near, including some Elizabethan almshouses - Jesus Hospital. Additions were built through the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries but I'm presuming this might be an Elizabethan gateway. Originally constructed for 26 elderly men, the 'hospital' still houses old folk in the form of retirement accommodation. .
