Preening
I debated whether I should go out this morning given how cold it was, but I put on three layers and a puffy coat and decided to give it a try. Except for one set of birders, one photographer, and two dog walkers, I was alone on the path. That was fine with me since I could put my tripod wherever I wanted to try and get a shot of this eagle without major branches. On my way out I thought I was getting shots of a sparrow, but when I looked it up it appears to be a Hermit Thrush (extra). It was a pretty bird, and was doing a lot of tail pumping as the bird book describes.
