Cheap petrol

I have an app which displays the price of petrol throughout the city. Our cars both run on 95 octane petrol. This evening Gull were selling at $2.38.7 per litre. The same petrol was $2.89.9 per litre at the BP just 1 km away. The site was constantly full with 12 cars filling or waiting inside and another queue forming down the road. People are becoming a little desparate. Petrol is just one of the items currently spiraling out of control and contributing to our 5.9 % inflation.
Our government who talk themselves up all of the time actually do very little to solve such issues. The biggest issue, in my opinion is their horrendous fuel tax of 66.524 cents per litre. In late 2019 when petrol hit $2 per litre our Prime Minister, on national TV promised to solve high fuel prices by Christmas. Once Covid hit that was all they could think about.
Sorry I sound a little grumpy but people are beginning to hurt in this country. I really worry that our grandchildren will ever be able to afford a decent lifestyle the way things are heading.
