Botanics

This was a perfect day for a trip to the Botanics - by bus.

Naturally I was hoping to see witch hazels but, whaddya know, all the well-known ones were still shut away, though we did find the example here. just about over. Even the New Route was closed off, as access to the Queen Mother's Garden was closed.

But the sun was shining under a blue sky and we wandered and found snowdrops, these purple Hellebores, green Hellebores (?Argutifolius),  and an early Rhododendron as well.

The Terrace Café is still only serving cakes and not savouries so we stoked up on excellent date-flapjack-crumble thing with our coffee for lunch before wandering back for our buses home..
