a different kind of day

We stayed over last night so that we could go to Kendal this morning and visit the Pete Bland Sports shop to get Sarah a new pair of running shoes.
Pete Bland was a local fell running legend - he died of Covid in 2020. His shop has always been a good place to go for running shoes and advice. The knowledgeable woman who served Sarah measured her feet carefully and listened to what she needed. There was no hard sell and she gave Sarah an NHS discount even though she didn't have her card with her.

The weather was so much better today! The tops were clear and the sun was shining. It was tempting to go up some hills but a rest day was needed, so we took a walk around Grasmere and Rydal Water, a nice easy 6 miles. As you can see,  Jess had a lovely time too.

Now home, and D has made the tea for us :-)
