Bridge 40

MrsB and I enjoyed an afternoon walk in the short spell of sunshine we saw today, so took ourselves off to one of our favourite stretches of the Leeds/Liverpool Canal at Appley Bridge.
We went as far as Bridge 40 which is halfway between Appley Bridge and Parbold. It is also the crossing point for walkers following the paths from the high points of Ashurst Beacon to Parbold Hill through the Douglas Valley where the canal parallels the river.
