Our changing world

A van pulled up today outside the house. A young man got out clutching a package. I went to meet him.
 
“No its not for you it’s for your husband. What were you expecting?”
“A book.”
 
“A book?” He sounds incredulous. “What sort of book?”
I tell him.
 
He shakes his head.
“ I am 21 years of age. I don’t know anyone who reads books.”
 
Earlier in the week a friend told me that the local primary school no longer teaches joined up writing.

Well I didn’t have far to go to find this object, just into the kitchen.
