Vic 32

Didnt do much at all today so was a bit stuck for a decent blip. However yesterday afternoon I got a guided tour round the Vic 32 Puffer.
Built in 1943, "puffers" were little cargoe boats carrying all manner of stuff especially round the West Coast of Scotland. During WW11 the Admiralty commissioned the Ministry of War to provide 50 of these inshore craft and were operated by men of the Royal Marines Auxiliary Service.
This one was bought by a couple in 1975 and they restored it and it has carried thousands of passaengers over the past 30 years. In 2002 they gave her to a Scottish charity the Puffer Preservation Trust which got funding from Heritage Lottery towards the cost of replacing her vertical tank boiler. She was lovely inside and out and nice a warm with the log burner in the lounge A week long cruise is just £695 but well worth it and if you cant afford that...go buy the book by Neil Munro called Para Handy, its a hoot.
Happy blipping all
