AFTERNOON NAP

I made a quick visit to the seal hide after a couple of errands this afternoon and caught these three on the mud that the retreating tide had left behind.

Also on the mud was a big flock of what I'm pretty certain are Golden Plovers, a few of which are in the extra. The light wasn't great nor was the sharpness, but I wanted to record them for myself so that I could check at home. The book says their upperparts are "spangled golden brown" which seems to fit very well.
