Croome Court
So, the sun shone and we decided that we needed to spend some time basking in it, in between eating cakes, drinking tea, eating soup and/or sandwiches, drinking more tea and generally being a little bit cultured and a little bit moochy. Thus it was that we found ourselves at Croome Court in the sunshine.
I can report that the tea and scones were great, the soup was ok and the cheese and chutney sandwish was very tasty indeed. Other reports on the bacon roll, the coffee, and the coffee cake were similarly positive.
The grounds at Croome are just beautiful, and it was so nice to just mooch around them (following the mapo of course) and to look at all the statues with their winter coats on.
This is the Rotunda (which incidentally was the shape of our tummies by the time we made it up the hill, after having to stop and eat at each tearoom on the way), and is standing in a copse of Mrs BH's favourite UK-based trees - Lebanon Cedar. Capability Brown really knew what he was doing with that old landscaping malarkey.
