Two years late
f there's an evening to be briefly blipping, this is it. It's 1.15am and I really need tea and then bed. But we've had such a lovely evening, and I can lie late in the morning, as there should be no plumbers at my door early. This morning the plumber arrived, complete with pickaxe, spade, concrete and whirligig, and by the time we'd had our 11ses it was all done and the new drier installed. As he said himself as he left: "not bad for a plumber!" Now I just need the rain to stop so's I can christen it.
And this evening we had our friends from the Rectory to dinner, and we've talked non-stop for hours. I felt that we were just getting to the stage when we might spend such an evening when Covid arrived and put the kibosh on all such extra-familial socialising, so as far as I was concerned this event was long overdue. I'm hopeless at taking selfies of any kind, so this blip was taken by David, who seems able to arrange such things and left me free merely to laugh.
And laughing and friendship matter, as much now as at any time in my life.
