Was out walking today looking for mushrooms - a bit less rain today thankfully!  Found loads of mushrooms but also came upon an amazing sight - we have flying ants (termites) that come out after the rains and there was a nest just coming out - so there were loads of termites and suddenly flying all around me were loads of different birds just catching them as they flew off!  An incredible sight and lots of noise as the birds competed for the termites!  The first birds to come were the African Paradise Flycatchers (beautiful little fast flying birds)!  I was so happy to actually get a photo of the male with the long tail today as he took a rest from catching ants!

The extra is another couple of birds with the ants in their mouths!  The action was so fast but amazing to watch!

Having a friend over for dinner this evening so better go and start preparing!

My friend in hospital is out of bed sitting on a chair for the first time in 3 weeks so hopefully that means she is gradually getting stronger!
