Green-winged teal drake
I heard there was a North American vagrant on the pond by Inganess beach so I cycled over before work. It was among about 20 eurasian teal and kept to the far side. I couldn't stay long enough to see it puttering about mid-pond. You can easily tell it apart from the usual drake teal by the vertical, rather than horizontal, line on the side. They hybridize with our teal, so this might just stay and breed here come spring.
