The Joy of Fresh Water

 . . .    This summer I swam in a public place
And a reservoir to boot
At the latter I was informal
At the former I wore my suit
I wore my swimming suit, yeah

This summer I did swan dives
And jack knives for you all
And once when you weren't looking
I did a cannonball
Did a cannonball

This summer I went swimming
This summer I might have drowned
But I held my breath and I kicked my feet
And I moved my arms around
Moved my arms around . . .        The Swimming Song   by Loudon Wainwright

Today it was back to the river to swim, picnic and read our books with a background sound of cicadas and happy children.  There were a family doing cannonballs off the rocks and into the river but I either caught them jumping in the air or under the water.  I didn't know when to click so you get the forester drifting about.   KD in Vermont had a frozen waterfall blip yesterday and I have  a flowing river to enjoy.
