Life In Wales

The Island of Love

Rachel, Scott and the girls plus Enzo the puppy arrived this morning, and I cooked pizzas for us and macaroni cheese for the girls for lunch before heading over to Anglesey to go for a walk at Newborough beach with the three dogs.

It was a bit blustery but it was sunny and everyone enjoyed the walk over to the Ynys Llanddwyn as the tide was out.  There are lots of lovely little beaches and we had one to ourselves where the girls enjoyed throwing pebbles into the sea.  It was Enzo's first trip to the beach and he had a great time!

We started to walk back just after 4pm as we didn't want to be on the island as it started to get dark, and the scene was pretty spectacular as the sun started to set. behind St Dwynwen's Cross.  The island is known as the Island of Love and Wales still celebrate Saint Dwynwenn, the patron saint of love on 25th January which is the Welsh equivalent to St Valentine's Day.

As we got back to the car park the sky was the most amazing colour above the forest and I've attached an extra, as well as some family photos.

On the way home, Alan and I called to pick up an Indian takeaway and we celebrated my birthday once again and had a birthday cake so the girls sang happy birthday.  Precious family time!
