DERELICTION ON A SUNNY SUNDAY AFTERNOON
After watching our Church Service online, we went out searching for dereliction. However, we decided that the the area we had chosen was much too posh to have many derelict buildings.
We did stop at a little nursery in Pinkney and saw a very large tree stump for sale, but I certainly wouldn’t have paid £450 for it! In fact, Mr. HCB dug up better ones when we rejigged our garden a couple of years ago - and we never thought to sell them - guess we missed a trick there!
On the way home, having almost given up hope of seeing any dereliction, we came across this derelict barn, on the road to Badminton, but even that wasn’t as derelict as I would have liked. I did take a closer shot, but have decided to use this one as it shows the beautiful sky and fluffy clouds.
I have also put another shot in as an extra, which I took at Little Badminton, near the airfield, just to show the quintessential English countryside on a beautiful, sunny January day with a gorgeous big sky, naked winter trees and sheep grazing in a field behind a Cotswold stone wall.
After a wet and windy day yesterday, it lifted our spirits to see these beautiful sights today and the promise was there - that spring is coming.
“No winter lasts forever,
no spring skips its turn.”
