Pink-ish

To carry on a pink-ish theme from yesterday's blip, here's my dusty pink orchid.  Behind is another orchid with a budded stem.  I can't recall what colour the blooms are, so I've a surprise in store.
Did the RSPB bird count this afternoon after having scattered ground food.  Usually it's a poor avian turnout.  Today quantity was an issue in that numbers were low but quality was surprising.  A rare visitor, the lesser spotted woodpecker made an appearance as did the greenfinch which we've not seen for ages and the intermittent visitors, the goldfinch.and coal tit.   Starlings which usually flock were represented by only a couple and the long-tailed tits which often appear in at least a quartet looping round the feeder, taking turns was reduced to one today.  Still was glad to see the greenfinch which in terms of conservation is on the red list.
Getting chillier as the day progresses. Now to hunker down under my South American poncho with my book.
Have a pleasant, warm, safe evening.
