Shinkai
Here’s the super yacht ‘Shinkai’, which is currently berthed in Leith. Built in 2021 in the Netherlands, it’s very impressive, and it even has it’s own submarine.
Shinkai, meaning deep sea in Japanese, was purpose-built to accommodate a U-Boat Worx C-Researcher 3 submersible which the owner already had in build at the time of signing the contract with Feadship (the builders). Finished in racing red, the submarine sits flush with the aft deck and is the first to be fitted with an elevator to lower passengers into their seats. A heavy-duty crane with an eight-metre reach is fitted nearby to launch and recover the sub.
Anyway, The main reason for Martin and I popping along the coast the Leith, was to see the new Spider-Man film, which we loved. You really have to see films like this at the cinema to get the full effect.
I hope you have enjoyed today.
