Mini Me busy bee
Today me and Mini-Me have spent the whole day sewing. Right from scratch. First we drafted her basic skirt block to size. She loved the tech drawing side... Geek!
Then we made her skirt pattern and cut out the fabric.
Then it was a whistle stop tour of the sewing machine, followed by making up the skirt. She's good that daughter of mine; very controlled. Chip off the old block. The only thing I did was insert the zip, which is a tricky business at the best of times. She slip stitched the waistband and then we stopped for tea.
Tomorrow she's just got to hand stitch the hem and do a button & button hole.
It's a great fit, and she's thrilled!
So am I. And proud. And so would my Nana have been as it was her that taught me to sew.
Once again, bravo Sophia!
Love school holidays :-))
