The "new normal"
“Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it”
George Santayana
Today we saw Tom Stoppard’s award winning play Leopoldstadt, live streamed to the Macrobert Arts Centre.
( And we rediscovered the pleasure of going to the theatre after a two year Covid absence.)
Although set at the turn of the 20th it had uncanny undertones resonating with our present turbulent world. Let’s just say it’s the most powerful play I have seen for a very long time.
On a more mundane note, most people wore masks in the theatre, except the couple sitting two empty seats away from us.
I’m glad we both wore the full FFP2 protective masks.
