Boots Belonging To Miss Bertha Hiles
I had my DMs re-soled and re-heeled three weeks ago, but today one of the new soles was flapping. While I waited at the shoe place for the “Back in Five Minutes” to elapse I noticed that the business was established in 1911 and has now been in the same family for four generations. Miss Bertha Hiles didn’t pick up her boots some time ago. I’m tempted now to pop her name into Trove’s digitised newspapers and perhaps find out why.
