St. Bridget Chapel, Lohja
This hand made chapel was built by volunteers, the primus motor of the project was Rev. Kaiku Mäenpää, the pastor of the local parish. There is also a medieval stone church in Lohja, and in a way this tiny modern chapel is a hommage to those who built the huge St. Lawrence Church in Lohja.
The Chapel is dedicated to St. Bridget, maybe not only because of Saint Bridget of Sweden, but also after the late spouse of pastor Mäenpää - her name was Pirkko (Bridget).
The stone chapel stands in a forest by a lake; it is open 24/7 for the silent prayer, the door is unlocked.
