Ice skating on the canal

It's still cold, around 30F (0C), but I still went for a short walk this afternoon. The days are getting longer a little at a time, which is nice. I saw something to get a photo of tomorrow with a longer lens, if I can get out before the sun sets.

But this was way more timely and interesting than that photo. They said they measured the thickness with a drill. I wouldn't do it, but that is pretty neat.
