Battered Red Admiral

A warm day and the butterflies are out again. Soaking up the last of the sun. The days are getting cooler, had to haul out the uv pond pump for cleaning and storage till next spring, man was the water cold.
Had to go down to the croquet lawns to set the lawn mower up for a higher cut, couldn't mow as they were playing and will be tomorrow as well so wednesday will the day to mow.
Spotted this butterfly on the marigolds, its looking battered and worn, its colour has faded but still very fast n the wing, didn't hang around long , 2 shots and it was gone.
