Christening

A cultural experience for the kids (and us) today at Sam’s school friend’s baby’s christening. Our church dedicated babies and baptises adults so our kids had never seen anything like it! A lot of interesting symbolic elements - a bit of water dropped into the bowl that came from the river Jordan (where Jesus was baptised), the baby was anointed with an oil that had been blessed by the bishop of Birmingham and the adults (parents and godparents)’s hands were anointed with a nice smelling oil…

Henry (the baby) also featured in this blip, though you can’t see him, and at the time I couldn’t believe how fantastic his mum looked carrying him!
