Long awaited Chaos
I never thought this day would actually arrive. We have had at least four bathroom fitter call and quote for new bathrooms and then disappear into the ether. We don't have a lot of luck with tradesman but this time we have hit the jackpot. The work was originally scheduled to start before Christmas but the contractor was worried if we hit any snags we might not have a bathroom whe the big man in red arrived. He may have been ight with this one. Once the bath was taken out he discovered that the work we had done after the bathroom flooded a few years ago has been bodged big time. They had cut the floor away from around the bath and left the floor suspending away from the supporting floor beams. Result we need a new flloor!!! Anyway the old bathrooms are out in the front garden and we have an empty almost floorless space. Tiles have been ordered and some fancy acessories to complete the job. I am so looking forward to seeing nice clean modern bathrooms.
I was working through all of this chaos when Phil added an extra layer. He bought a lovely little doggy home that he found wondering in the road. She really made herself comfortable and stayed for a couple of hours whilst we used the power of facebook to find her owner.
So tomorrow is another day of no water, limited heating - thank goodness for the wood burner, and zoom meeting taking place whilst the workmen use their power tools to remove the rest of the floor and then start to rebuild my home.
