Wasp

Right at the start of today's safari, I found five of these wasps buzzing around a few yellow flowers. I checked them for grubs and there was nothing, so obviously taking nectar.

They are scary beasts but in fact are only about ½" long.

As I type this, there is an enormous wasp buzzing on the inside of my window, the same species that was one of my very first bug blips. Back then, there would be no chance of me being in the same room unless my focus was focused on the killer wasp. I have come a long way since those days. I just shows that it is possible to beat those phobias.
