Birds, Reeds and a Windmill

This morning I had my Arts Society live tour of the Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden in South Africa. It was a lovely sunny and hot (34C) day for our tour, which I enjoyed, I really liked his work. https://www.dylanlewis.com/garden/sculpture_groupings/big-cats
The camera work could have been better - more focussed on the sculptures and less on the guide talking to us, but it was still very enjoyable, particularly the sculpture of the big cats. I've added a photo in Extras along with the Cley Windmill in late afternoon light across the reeds. The birds were enjoying the water in the sunshine, it was 13C but didn't feel like it in the strong wind. I then popped into the photo exhibition of one of the camera club members and had a nice chat.

After Dec had 51% more rainfall in Holt than average, Jan had only 59% of the average, so it's evened out.

Day 687 / Day 6 Post Plan B (for my record only)
The Foreign Secretary Liz Truss tested positive for Covid yesterday evening. This was shortly after she appeared in the House of Commons without wearing a mask. I'm confused as either she took a PCR test as she had symptoms, in which case she shouldn't have been there, or she did a LFT in the evening having been out and about all day??? Last night the Health Secretary announced a review into mandatory jabs for NHS staff (it felt like a decision had already been made). More evidence is emerging that the Omicron subvariant is substantially more infectious, with a Danish study finding people with BA.2 were 33% more likely to infect others compared to BA1. With reinfections now being counted in the daily case numbers, SKY are reporting that there were 82,080 reinfections before 1 Dec 2021, and an astonishing 506,034 in the two months since. The ONS is reporting that in the third week of this year, deaths were 8.6% below the 5 year average. The annual accounts of the Dept of Health and Social Care show that the Govt spent an eyewatering c£8.7bn on PPE that was unused or expired before being used, which is just a scandal! Labour has called for the Chancellor to allow the National Crime Agency to investigate the £4.3bn of fraudulently claimed Covid support loans - another scandal! 'Partygate' rumbles on.
