Heron
A drive over to Auchinstarry Marina to afford myself the pleasure of walking with the wind behind me, rather than in my face which is the usual order of things. Had a good, wind-assisted, walk from there to Wyndford Lock, a distance of around four miles. Lots to see - a pair of goldeneyes, male and female goosanders, mallards, mute swans (on the water and in flight), a buzzard and two herons (at different points along the way).
Both of the herons I saw were in flight, but one landed fairly close by and settled among some reeds at the edge of the water near Dullatur Marsh. Thankfully, I managed to get a clear shot through the reeds and made that my Blip of the day.
