Island Dreams

By Gavin Francis. I have only just opened this book so can't really comment on it yet, although I did enjoy his Empire Antarctica a lot, where he was the doctor for a British Antarctic research base. He's now an Edinburgh GP and I started Intensive Care, his account of the pandemic, but I gave it up because it was still too near the bone. 

This is a beautiful book, from the cover to the coloured maps and general layout. Definitely better as a physical book (from the library) than my usual kindles. I will report again when I've finished it.
