I’ve had a productive day super sleuthing!

I’ve been in full on investigation mode for over a week now, thanks to our travel agents playing at silly beggars. They’ve picked a fight with the wrong person….I am boiling with rage!!

They’re denying us a full refund for our rearranged travel booking, despite being in breach of contract for making a huge change to our travel plans. Instead they’ve said they will refund our money less 15% for their deposit, plus another loss of just over £700 for two ‘non refundable’ flights that were part of our packing booking the the USA for our wedding (which we cancelled in favour of getting married here).

Our argument has always been that as it was a package deal, it should be refunded as a whole. Coupled with the fact they were internal flights (between the Hawaiian islands), so we had no means of getting there to take them as the UK was still in a travel ban at that time.
We’ve even asked if we could get credit or vouchers for the flights to use at a later date, but they said no.

So, imagine how furious I was after speaking with Delta directly today and hearing how we have they have given us evouchers to use up to 31-12-2023!!! Not only that, if we don’t want to accept the vouchers for flights some other time, we can have a refund.

I have both of these facts in writing, so our travel agent is going to get both barrels and I won’t let up until we get what we are owed. This is only the beginning; I have more cards up my sleeve for if when they don’t play fair.

This is the 5th time we have used them for holidays (never a problem previously), but it will certainly be the last! :-(
