It was sudden.

He'd been weakening for a long time. Ever since Amadeus left us. But he crashed during the night and this morning he wasn't himself anymore. For the first time in his life he didn't finish his food. Until now he'd eaten everyone's food if possible. His legs were giving up all the time and he was clearly tired (stopped barking when needed to go out to the backyard and come back in, also only took few steps outside) and possibly in pain.

So he's now with Amadeus.
