West pier

We had to go to Brighton and Lewes today so took the train. We enjoyed visiting the photographic exhibition on Brighton beach again (a new set of photos) and a late lunch in Lewes on the way back. This is the remains of West Pier, Brighton, opened 1886 and was about to be restored in 2003 when it was destroyed by fire - an arson attack. Brighton Palace pier opened in 1899 is just along the Seafront and a huge visitor attraction.
