Five Get Over Excited

Many many moons ago I left home, packed my bags and headed off to deepest darkest Wales (well Aberystwyth) to do a degree in International Politics.

I can sadly say, I've never even opened either of these books up yet. In my defence (your lord) they never seemed appropriate to the degree content.

Maybe now I should add them to my list of things to read next - once I've finished with George Orwell's 1984, which is bloody scary for something written in the late '40s.

So here's a link to today's track, and if you are wondering, here's the lyrics from the last chorus:

Feigning concern, a conservative pastime
Makes you feel doubtful right from the start
The expression she pulls is exactlly like last time
You've got to conclude she just hasn't a heart

Personally I think she was a great politician. She created a hell of a lot of polarisation, but I dread to think where we would have been if she had not carried out the actions that she did. I no longer believe that we are the "sick man of Europe". She did what needed to be done, and didn't care what people thought about her. That to me is what politicians should be about. It is not a beauty pageant, strutting your stuff to be the most popular person. It is about doing the decisions that are right for the country.

footnote:
I have far too many CDS, and I'm sure I could have got a more appropriate Thatcher track from somewhere. I really wanted to do a Carter USM track, but couldn't quite decided on the right one. I wanted to do this one, but I find another day for it :)
