Brolly day

This idea of suspending cheery umbrellas above places where people gather or walk has been around for a long time now. I first came across an example myself years ago in a Wigan arcade, and Warrington is now getting in on the act. It brightened an otherwise grey early morning.

I had taken the car in for its major service, so went for a walk. On my return I had a brief look at the electric cars parked outside the showroom. At some point I will have to go in that direction, and environmentally it’s the right thing to do. It’s a question of when rather than if. Following the upping of the price cap today on energy prices, with another rise trailed for the autumn, it’s not looking currently like a cheap option. A lot of families are going to be struggling in coming months with heating their homes, never mind charging their cars.
