Memorial

On February 19th 1942 Darwin was bombed in two raids by Japanese bombers, resulting in destruction of most of the town killing 252 people (estimated) and the sinking of 8 ships in the harbour. Between then and November 1943 there were 64 raids on Darwin. This memorial has just be erected in memory of the residents of Darwin whose lives were affected. Many of the families mentioned still live in Darwin today.
