Giving the tree a good hammering

A lazy start to the day and have done nothing except read the papers, watch the Olympics and take this picture.  We've been invited over to our son's this afternoon for tea, so that means I won't have been totally idle.

I don't often see the woodpeckers on the trunk of our lime tree, so this was a pleasant surprise.  It would have been sharper had I opened the window, but then it would have flown off, so it is what it is.
