Scarlet Elfcup (sarcoscypha austriaca)

The village volunteer group was doing some clearing up down on the Green and one of us spotted this brilliantly coloured fungus. There were a few more examples in the same area but tiny. The Mushroom book (Roger Phillips) says "Edible but not worthwhile" (!)
