Recycling a Building

This was, according to the plaque, Bell’s Wool Warehouse in 1885. In the 1970s it was converted to Hexham Swimming Pool, which closed around the time we moved here in 2009 as the town got a new leisure centre. Since then there has been much speculation about what it would become, but a couple of years ago planning permission was granted for retirement flats. Everything but the facade was demolished and construction has only recently started on the back.
