Morning walk

After a decent cappuccino and croissant at one of the local cafés, we set off along a flattish path weaving along the mountainside. These old trails are called "Ru"s and their purpose was to irrigate the land. Back in 1400 the peasants requested the "feudal lord" of Aosta for the right to build these irrigation channels. The water runs under or alongside these trails and there are many of them in these parts.
In the extra you can see M, a huge rock and the water course alongside. He did really well, the views were stunning, the trail wide, flat and clear of snow, and he walked almost 6km in the sunshine.
