Flamenco night
Well, if we are in Almuñecar we have to go to a flamenco show. I don't know whether I'm just getting used to it, but this one seemed more tuneful than most. Jaime "El Estampio" (vocals and dance) had a less harsh voice than most singers. Sadly, I don't know the guitarist's name, but he was really excellent. And dancing by Asami Ikeda -- a Japanese flamenco dancer is a first for me. I still don't really understand flamenco, and I only caught about 5% of the lyrics, but we still thoroughly enjoyed it.
Afterwards, the obligatory stop at our favourite bar Los Pajaritos. We got there so early (the show was at 7 pm so finished not long after 8) that it was almost empty, and we managed to score a table instead of having to stand squashed up against the bar. They still do the absolute best fried fish tapas in Almuñecar. Four glasses of wine, a plate of fried fish, a plate of delicious prawns: 8 euros.
Earlier, we went to the Saturday morning intercambio, which is outdoors. It started to rain! But it was only a few spots, and the barman swiftly pulled over the overhead blinds that would normally protect you from the sun. Lunch was a takeaway pizza on the terrace because the sun had come out again by then. And yesterday was yoga with Amaya, another excellent class.
