End of an era

Margaret Thatcher has divided opinion on her death as much as she did during her life. I travelled from university in Norwich to vote Labour in my home city of Oxford during the 1979 general election. Everyone knew she would win but how could we have known how much and for how long she would dominate the political landscape.

The news of her death spurred me to look out some old political memorabilia and I came across this badge. I can't remember what the swamp reference was about, but it sums up how she was viewed by many people at the time. I've also still got my 'Don't Blame Me, I Voted Labour' badge!
