The choice: eat or leave

A leisurely start to the day, and then we packed up some supplies and headed north to Fidelis Avenue for a couple of days. As we drove north along the motorway we saw on almost every overbridge across the motorway protestors. These are the anti-mandate people. Many are vaccinated, so that they are not necessarily antivaxxers. But they  profess to not want to know that the doctor and nurse and other health professionals that they might come in contact with are vaccinated and therefore unlikely to infect them with Covid-19.

Then we saw the  convoy. Car after car almost always with just the driver, as they head south with the aim of turning up at Parliament on Tuesday. They say that they want Freedom. The only freedom they don't have is to enter certain premises without being vaccinated, and others without wearing a mask. NO OTHER "FREEDOM" HAS BEEN AFFECTED by the Governemnt mandates. 

In the late 1960s Richie Havens sang Freedom at Woodstock. THAT was a real call for freedom.

Late this afternoon I went to the mudflats which were becoming exposed by the outgoing tide, and got this photo of Kuihi (Canada Geese) as well as a good photo of a Karoro (Black backed or Herring Gull)
