Garden space at end of winter

It looks like an impossible task. Our garden space needs a lot of attention. This month we will clean up old plant debris and then cover the ground with black plastic. The sun will heat the ground and kill the weeds. We will uncover it in late April-early May and ready the bare ground for planting.
I am hoping to plant a more moderate garden this year.
