Jackdaw
It was a fabulous bright, cold sunny winter morning. A and I walked from Morston to Blakeney along the coast path, spotting a Kestrel, Brent geese, an Oystercatcher and an Egret en-route.
We found a seat overlooking the duck pond at Blakeney Quay for our coffee and enjoyed watching the antics of the various ducks and geese who are definitely gearing up ready for the mating season. There was plenty of territorial disputes in progress.
This was one of a pair of Jackdaws hanging around, probably on the look out for some hand-outs from us. Apparently their name comes from two separate words: 'Jack' meaning rogue (it is a well-known thief) and 'daw', which is an imitation of its call.
